You can walk the ancient walls of York for almost the whole city, with only minor breaks.

Bootham Bar

In this context, bar means gate.

Several fine medieval bars exist in York, and you can even see the rare barbican, the protected chute leading into a bar.

Bootham is my favorite bar because... it's my hotel!  If you look at the rose-coloured brick showing on the right, and have a terrific imagination, you can see me waving out my window.
