Celtic Glass and Feathered Masks

Princes Street

Though I'm not much of a shopper while traveling, preferring to be outdoors on the whole, Edinburgh is quite the place to find exquisite, unique pleasures (as is York).

It's also a stunning (literally) environment, with the Castle looming over you nearly anywhere you go.

Edinburgh: White Dove: Masks

White Dove Crafts is a delight of a shop.  Right in the heart of things, and offering unusual things I didn't see anywhere else, including these masks and some arresting Celtic glass pieces from Celtic Soul

Edinburgh: Kookai - the naughty-word store

Kookai!?!

In our homeland, though spelled differently, this word means excrement.

David and I thought this was quite a thigh-slapper

Edinburgh: dappled team

Princes Street

And to do all of this in style, why not take a carriage ride?

This hard working team reflects Edinburgh's soft greys
