So here I am on the great Broad Way.

Times Square is much nicer now than on my last visit, a million things to do.

Exploring 46th Street was the first thing I wanted to do. I was amazed at the hidden gardens and urban wildernesses.

On a 90 degree NYC summer day, even a pigeon needs a break

These birds enjoyed the breezes on the fire escape

Wildlife is abundant in the wilderness

So many things to see -- topped off by a wonderful meal at an Ethiopian restaurant

This woodcraft shop uses only special woods -- here are some examples

At the river end, the Enterprise is docked

Chicken with two sauces, grilled fish with lime, Ethiopian tea -- mmm.

And here's my wee bed, in my wee room. But very glamourous.

And so ended my very first day in Manhattan.
