Honolulu Zoo
Residents

Honolulu zoo: turtle sunning I wonder if these are the same turtles I knew as a child?  On the left, a contented turtle. On the right, the most wild behaviour I experienced in romantic Waikiki. Honolulu zoo: wild sex in romantic Waikiki

Honolulu zoo: rhino
Like the sensible turtle, the rhino takes a rest during the hot midday.
Honolulu zoo: black & white lemur
The black & white lemur, on the other hand, never stops moving.

Honolulu zoo: nene geeseThese are nene geese, so rare now that many of us have only seen them in the zoo. Their disposition is quite equivalent to that of their Canadian relatives.  On the left are low-hanging hau leaves.

Honolulu zoo: funny-face vultureThis funny-face vulture was new to me, but had me completely charmed.  Maybe because I am so funny-looking now, but I found him so endearing.
